The Eagle, the Bear, and the Men from Mars

A question often asked by those skeptical of extra-terrestrial life is “Why if the aliens exist do they not appear more often?”

Maybe we are not that interesting. Being trans-dimensional beings that can bend space around their crafts to traverse greater than the speed of light velocity while voyaging great distances to arrive at a planet where our greatest technological achievement is the internal combustion engine and TiVo. Maybe we are the Kansas of the galaxy.

Maybe they don’t need us. Enslaving us to dig ditches mining for minerals is not necessary for trans dimensional being. Plasma and anti-gravity technology probably has no use for oil, gas, and coal.

Maybe they don’t find us delicious. All the GMOs and shit we eat we probably are not that appetizing or nutritiously dense enough for their delicate pallets.

Or maybe we are just assholes. The shitty neighbors of the galaxy.

In fearing the latter hypothesis the most I look no further than geo-politics in the Middle East and Asia between two former come lately rivals, The United States and the Russian Federation.

During the Kabuki dance known as the cold war the Eagle and the Bear spent each other into oblivion with the bear being trapped in the Eternal Boneyard of Empires know as Afghanistan. Ironically the Eagle may join the former Bear in that very same grave.

But as one lingers closer to death another awakens from its grave before continuing the cycle.

Last year in the Ukraine the US gets outed as having spent 5 billion on over-throwing the elected government and putting their approved “transitional government” in place which is usually staffed by nothing more than bankers and politicos already committed to the task of looting the silverware and the jewelry before sticking the bill to the taxpayers of the newly “liberated” country.
On the way to the pillaging they were checkmated by Russian which annexed the Crimean peninsula. Crimea has only been part of Ukraine for about 60 years and had just voted to return to the Russian Federation but more importantly was the strategic prize as Russia’s only warm water naval base and a geostrategic buffer zone crossed by pipelines and prized by chicken hawks since the days before empire started.

So the US stages a coup and has the brass balls to cry foul when Russia annexes a land and people which wanted to be part of Russia in the first place.
The Shenanigans between these two continue in the middle east in today’s hot spot de jour, Syria.

Fresh off the quagmires of Afghanistan and Iraq the US is trying to overthrow Bashar Al-Assad’s regime in Syria. In an effort to appear with unbloodied hands they have subcontracted the mission to “moderate rebels” the Nusra Front, Syrian branch of al-Qaida, and the crazed terrorists of the Islamic State (ISIS). The Tactic of the US, funding and training these extremists groups in the hope that they can take down the Al-Assad regime, has been practiced across the globe from the middle east to south east Asia to central and South America.

The list of ISIS Crimes including genocide, torture, crucifixion, rape and sexual slavery, destruction of religious and cultural heritage sites as well as the use of child soldiers is a long and dreadful one.

But the US does little against these groups hoping that the first take down the Assad regime.

Russia’s Putin fears that if Assad falls, Russia’s toehold in Syria and the Mediterranean will be lost, ISIS and al-Qaida will be in Damascus, and Islamic terrorism will have achieved its greatest victory and would result in the massacre of thousands of Alawite Shiites and Syrian Christians, and the flight of millions more refugees into Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey – and thence on to Europe.

The Russians are flying transports bringing tanks and troops to an air base near the coastal city of Latakia creating a supply chain to provide a steady flow of weapons and munitions to the besieged Syrian army.

In a similar Checkmate Putin offered an Olive Branch to us, asking us to join him in the fight against ISIS, knowing full well that we DO NOT want ISIS defeated (at the moment).

This is what it has come to, the Russian federation taking the mantle of world police to prevent a massacre (even if their true intentions are self-serving), while the US hopes a group they decry to whip up fear for a war on terror does their dirty work.

The problem in Syria is not so much with the Russians – or Iran, Hezbollah and Assad, all of whom see the Syrian civil war correctly as a fight to the finish against Sunni jihadist. Our problem has been that we have let our friends – the Turks, Israelis, Saudis and Gulf Arabs – convince us that no victory over ISIS can be achieved unless and until we bring down Assad.Once we get rid of Assad, they tell us, a grand U.S.-led coalition of Arabs and Turks can form up and march in to dispatch ISIS.

Lunacy. Plain and simple. But that’s the reality of life on Planet 3.

Imagine, if you will, our cosmic cousins zipping past this mud ball. Observing arcane technologies and dense low vibration consciousness, wars over environmentally destructive technologies utilizing population devastating technologies. Fights between different sects of the same religion vs other religions.

Wouldn’t you just pass on by?
